Why Real Madrid Have 'Utter Faith' in Teenager Pitarch
When an teenage creates Real Madrid a historic moment in a key European match against City, it inevitably draws praise and attention.

The young player, who also made his Real debut in the play-off round a month ago with a cameo off the bench at Benfica, then helped Los Blancos overcome the English Premier League side in Tuesday's second leg to confirm a last eight place.
Aged 18 years old, Pitarch became the team's most youthful starter to start twice in the Champions League's latter rounds, surpassing star Vinicius Jr's previous mark by 10 days.
A Meteoric Rise From La Fabrica

He progressed to the B team and it was in a friendly match in which they played against the senior squad, then managed by the former defender, where the youngster is said to have drawn the eye of the present manager, who took over from Xabi Alonso in January.
Reports would later label the moment as "love at first sight," noting he stood out not only for his skill on the ball, but for the energy, personality and determination he brought to the side.
'His Greatest Quality Is His Personality'
During the pre-season of 2025, ex-manager Xabi Alonso invited Pitarch to practice with the senior squad and awarded him playing time in pre-season.
However, it was the change in manager that proved the turning point in his development as he came on as a second-half replacement in both ties against the Portuguese side that led to the clash with Pep Guardiola's team.
"I have dreamed of this each night before going to bed, the first day I started playing football, every day you head to training and each day you play a match," stated the player after his debut.
"I've just achieved my ambition with the best team in the world and in the top tournament."

Pitarch has seized it with performances that have belied his youth and experience.
"He is a very quick player, and you can observe his capabilities," remarked the coach. "He is incredibly dynamic, with great stamina, work-rate and movement."
Pitarch's mentality has also stood out to his coach.
"His standout trait is his personality," added he. "He constantly demands the ball, and when pressed, he remains unfazed.
"I understand fans might be astonished to see him make his debut in a European fixture, but he is selected because I had total trust in him to perform what he usually does.
"Thiago will continue to get chances with the first team. It's a pleasure to have a talent like him."
Spain or Morocco?

Focus on the Future
For now, Pitarch's focus is on establishing himself in the Real side and rewarding his manager's belief.

His substitution by another academy player in Manuel Angel underscored Arbeloa's trust in the next generation to aid the club pursue future success.
After his notable contributions to date on the Champions League, Pitarch is expected to be a central figure in that.
"The manager treats me the same. We handle it very naturally. I try not to think about it too much - I must deserve my minutes on the pitch," he commented following the win at Etihad Stadium.
