The UK is prepared to move forward with utilizing the entire amount of immobilized Russia's holdings to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany asserted that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Russia to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the decision would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

British penalties have blocked over £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, previously, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had only been taken from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward using the full value of the immobilized Russia's state holdings to end the war.

He noted that more measures soon would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This announcement comes after European representatives convened in the Danish capital last week to discuss utilizing frozen Russian holdings for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.
