The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Has Died in a California Traffic Collision

Vince Zampella, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The renowned video game developer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
