Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.
So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.
A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
Fulham have got plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
Their display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
