Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the group of players following the fallout from his recent interview.
The Fallout
He was omitted from a vital match following making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
The player stated that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
