GOP Lodge Lawsuit Opposing Boundary Changes Measure
Republicans in the state of California have initiated a federal lawsuit on Wednesday, challenging a significant redistricting initiative that has the potential to flip up to five House seats to the benefit of Democrats.

The measure, Proposition 50, received approval by voters Tuesday night, representing a clear win for the Democratic side. The plan grants on a temporary basis the power to draw congressional districts to the California legislature, allowing it to approve maps that are expected to assist the Democratic party pick up five seats in the House of Representatives.
Response to Partisan Redistricting in Texas
The plan is a direct response to gerrymandering in Texas, where GOP lawmakers, at the US president’s behest, have carved out a number of new districts favoring Republicans.
