Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
