The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many fans into the NFL
That result may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their eight and two competitors
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - yes Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5-yard season average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into seven points just later
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
Miami have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed
Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three different eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?
You can find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts actually for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four victories coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Colts beating the Broncos
The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time success in Orchard Park appears to be a statement
Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, just like Denver, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant
Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves credit for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his team to victory
The defensive unit is solid and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this year on his first score
Although you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also compete for first place but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There's a long way to go but the door is open for a shock number one position in the AFC
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Showdown
Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different eight and two teams are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up 40 burgers to go to seven and two before the upcoming major game between the two in LA
They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing fewer than twenty points a game
Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Rams as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick deflected and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown
The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the best sides in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
Top Performer - Taylor
Taylor might be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and contributing another forty-two {receiving yards
