Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four major tournaments this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events this season as a result of the illness she has been battling over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover before starting her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training will include coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together again next season.

She had her blood pressure taken in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Her movement was far from freely in the deciding set versus Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

She mentioned that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
