A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

The group managing the initiative have stated that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an established charity.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a figure commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
