Acclaimed Actress Diane Ladd, Famed For Her Role in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Has Died at Age 89.

This actress, with credits spanned Chinatown, left this world in her residence in California’s Ojai. Her passing was revealed through a message from her daughter, award-winning actress Laura Dern.

Dern, who starred with Diane Ladd in various films like Wild at Heart and Rambling Rose, referred to her as “my amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother”, stating that she was at her bedside as she died.

“She was the greatest grandmother, mother, daughter, performer, creative as well as compassionate soul that only dreams could have seemingly created,” she wrote. “We were lucky to have her. Her spirit soars with angels.”

Beginnings and Major Success

Her initial acting years included small roles in TV shows such as Gunsmoke and the seventies saw her starring next to actor Jack Nicholson in the classic Chinatown.
